Terms of Service
Last updated: July 22, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Nomad, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Nomad.
2. What Nomad is
Nomad is a community-driven map for van lifers and overlanders, operated by DEXworks. Nomad is currently in free beta — there is no charge to use it, and no payment information is collected. Some features (like offline map downloads) are intended to stay free even after beta.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Please provide accurate information when you sign up. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the locations, descriptions, photos, and other content you submit. By submitting it, you give Nomad a license to display, store, and distribute it on the map and related features, for as long as it remains on the platform. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share — including private property you don't have permission to disclose, or photos you didn't take or don't have rights to.
Community submissions are reviewed before they appear on the public map, but review is manual and doesn't guarantee accuracy. See Section 6 below.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or unsafe location information.
- Submit content that's illegal, harassing, or infringes on someone else's rights.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or abuse the service.
- Use Nomad to identify or disclose the location of a person or private property without their consent.
6. Important safety disclaimer — read this one
Nomad's location data — including water sources, dump stations, fuel, service centers, and boondocking or campground spots — is submitted by the community and reviewed manually. We do not independently verify that any location is safe, legal to access, currently open, or accurately described. Conditions change. Always use your own judgment, verify access and safety before traveling somewhere, and check current local conditions, regulations, and land ownership — especially for boondocking/dispersed camping spots.
Driving routes and directions are generated by a third-party routing service and may not account for your vehicle's height, width, weight, seasonal road closures, or real-time conditions. This is especially important for larger RVs and trailers. Always verify a route is appropriate for your vehicle before committing to it.
You use Nomad and travel to any location shown on it entirely at your own risk.
7. No warranty
Nomad is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information on it is accurate or complete.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DEXworks and Nomad will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including harm, loss, or expense resulting from traveling to or relying on information about any location shown on the map.
9. Changes to Nomad or these terms
We may modify or discontinue features, and may update these terms as Nomad evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page when the terms change. Continuing to use Nomad after a change means you accept the updated terms.
